
Sven Yidah, Harambee Stars and Nairobi City Stars midfielder has joined South African top-tier side Marumo Gallants.
Yidah became the second Kenyan to join Gallants, after former Kariobangi Sharks winger Ovellah Ochieng signed for the club in 2021 before leaving for Botswana club, Township Rollers.
The 23-year-old was announced as a Gallant player on Friday, August 19, through their social media account.

“Marumo Gallants would like to welcome the 23-year-old Kenyan international Yidah Sven. A former Nairobi City Stars holding midfielder and current Kenyan national squad player. We would like to wish him the best.
“Asanteni watu wa Shamakhokho na Kibra kwa kutupea huyu fundi.
“[We thank the people of Shamakhokho and Kibra for giving us this technician],” the statement by Gallants read.
Yidah has been training with the team in South Africa for the past few weeks as he waited for paperwork to be sorted.
The South African PSL kicked off on August 5, with Marumo accumulating three points in the first three matches and are 11th on the log.
Yidah thanked the Nairobi City Stars fraternity for the two years he spent at the club.
“To my coaches Nicholas Muyoti, John Amboko, Sanjin Alagic and their entire technical bench, I say thank you very much for making me a better player by pushing me to do my best every day.
“To my teammates, thank you for being my second family all through my stay at the club. May God bless you all,” part of his statement read.
He also thanked the Club's CEO Patric Korir, for the mentorship and guidance that was given to him as he played for the Nairobi-based team.
“To Patrick Korir, our CEO and Samson Aloo, I am grateful for the mentorship and guidance you always provided. You made me a better human being.
“To all our fans, I am indebted to you. Your love and support have been there every day. I pray for you all to win in everything that you do.
He also asked his fanbase to continue supporting and praying for him as he takes up the new challenge in South Africa.
Back in Kenya, Nairobi City Star also announced the departure of 10 players whose contracts ended while two were released on mutual consent.
