Liverpool's head coach Jurgen Klopp has dispelled rumours that his job is on the line after a 4-1 loss to Napoli in the Champions League.

The Reds were thrashed by Napoli in their opening group stage match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

After the match, Klopp refuted reports that he was about to face the same fate that befell his compatriot Thomas Tuchel who was fired by Chelsea.

"Our owners are rather calm and expect me to sort out the situation and not think someone else will," Klopp stated.

The 55-year-old German noted that he was not under the same pressure as Tuchel who had struggled even in the Premier League.

Liverpool have only won two out of its seven matches in all competitions this season.

Klopp highlighted that he had the full backing of the Reds' management despite having a slow start to the season.

On his team's current form Klopp noted that they need to improve in all areas adding that there was no teamwork during their Champion League loss.

“We were not compact defensively or offensively. With Alisson in goal, you must be poor to concede three goals. You could see it on the pitch. We were not working as a team. That is why we lose games,” Klopp stated.

Liverpool will be playing Wolves in their next match in the Premier League on September 10, with Klopp adding that as a team they need to reinvent.

"We have to play in three days against Wolves. If Wolves saw that game tonight, they would not stop laughing and would say it is the perfect moment," Klopp added.
