The Kenya national women’s volleyball team head coach Paul Bitok has disclosed Malkia Strikers’ secret strategy to proceed to the next round of the ongoing 2022 FIVB Women’s World Championship that is being co-hosted by Poland and the Netherlands.

Speaking ahead of their clash against a star studded Italian side, Bitok stated that he will preserve some of his best players for their final group match of the tournament.

According to Bitok, the chances of the Kenyan queens beating Italy is slim, thus they would rather focus on their game against Puerto Rico.

Italy, the former world champions, are in a class of their own. They have registered impressive wins in all their group matches, walloping both Cameroon and Puerto Rico in straight sets before overcoming Belgium 3-1.

Kenya has only won one match so far in the tournament which is held after every four years.

The multiple African champions caged their African counterparts Cameroon on Tuesday by straight sets of (20-25, 27-25, 25-19).

Malkia Strikers are scheduled to play Puerto Rico on Saturday in a tournament defining encounter.

Should Malkia Strikers defeat Puerto Rico, they will proceed to the quarterfinals for the first time in the history of the competition.

However, beating the Puerto Ricans would not be a walk in the park since they have a pretty good team.

Despite losing all their three group matches, the North American side could hurt the Kenyan queens when it matters most.
