
The Tanzanian Premier League Board (TPLB) has fined Yanga TZS 5,000,000 (approximately Ksh261K) for using the wrong dressing room entrance.
The incident happened during their clash with arch-rivals Simba Sports Club on Sunday, October 23.
According to TPLB, the punishment was issued based on the match guidelines.

“Young Africans have been slapped with a TZS 5,000,000 for entering the dressing room using an unofficial door in their clash against Simba at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on October 23, 2022.
“This punishment is in accordance with principle 17: (21 & 60) of the Premier League about match guidelines,” read part of the statement from the board.
TPLB further added that two players from both Simba and Yanga were also fined for failing to greet their opponents before the start of the match.
“A player from Young Africans Stephan Aziz and Clatous Chama from Simba have also been banned for 3 matches and fined TZS 500,000 (approximately Ksh61K) for failing to greet players from the opposing teams before the start of the match mentioned above,” the board stated.
Moreover, several Yanga fans were banned for three months for harassing the match officials during the halftime break.
The match ended 1-1, with Nigerian international Augustine Okrah finding the back of the net for Simba early in the first half.
Azizi Ki scored a fantastic free kick for Yanga in the first half's final minutes to ensure the two arch-rivals share spoils.
