Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Barry Otieno noted that the federation expects Kenya’s ban to be lifted by FIFA.
On Friday evening, November 11, Barry clarified a report on Super Sport which claimed that FIFA had lifted the suspension.

“This is not correct, we expect it to be lifted next week,” Barry Otieno told journalists.
FIFA suspended Kenya in February 2022 over government interference after former Sports CS Amina Mohammed's disbanded the federation.
She installed a caretaker committee to run football in the country, taking charge of football for 11 months before their mandate ended.
The country was barred from participating in the AWCON, AFCON, and CHAN qualifiers, among others.
Clubs also suffered as they were locked out of continental tournaments.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba restored FKF on November 4, when the federation wrote a letter to FIFA confirming they were back to overseeing football in the country.
The lifting of the suspension will see Kenya resume featuring in international tournaments again.
On Friday, November 11, FKF released the league's fixtures that are expected to commence on Saturday, November 19.
