AFC Leopards will start the 2022/2023 FKF Premier League season without 10 key players.

Ingwe will face Ulinzi Stars at Lang'ata on Saturday, November 19, in their season opener.

In a letter by the teams, Secretary General Gilbert Andugu confirmed that the registration of 10 of their players was rejected by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

The players affected by the registration include Musa Omondo, Cliff Nyakeya, Victor Omune, Josphat Lopaga and Victor Omune, who Ingwe signed in the 2021/2022 season.

Six players from the junior team, including Ronald Sichenje, Nester Olum, Emmanuel Lwanga, Aboubakar Musha, Loren James and Victor Omune, will also not feature for Ingwe.

However, AFC Leopard's secretary general hoped that the players would feature in future league matches.

"We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that due to unforeseen technicalities, we will be unable to field ten of our players in tomorrow's FKF Premier League match against Ulinzi Stars FC.

“This is being addressed, and we expect them to play in the upcoming matches," the statement read.

Reports indicate that the 10 players have been training with the rest of the squad in the past few weeks.

Ingwe is currently facing a two-window transfer ban set by FIFA and will only be able to recruit new players at the end of the 2022/2023 season.
