“Trans Nzoia Falcons team arrived in Kitale from Nairobi where they had gone to play Ulinzi Starlets.

“The team was however involved in a road accident after the bus lost control and plunged into the bush past Eldoret - Kitale road,” read part of the statement from the Trans Nzoia Falcons.

The club further affirmed that several players who sustained injuries were rushed to hospital to receive medical attention. No fatalities were recorded.

“Everyone else is safe except for the few 4 or 5 girls who got injuries, which still have not been reported as serious or minor,” the statement ended.

Trans Nzoia Falcons were walloped 4-0 by a resurgent Ulinzi Starlets side in a one-sided encounter.

Neddy Otieno, who was a member of the disbanded Football Kenya Federation (FKF) transition committee, was among the stars who were on target for Ulinzi.

Otieno, a powerful forward who has featured for Harambee Starlets on numerous occasions, was making her return to football after a one-year break.
