Speaking during a press conference, a delightful Okutoyi stated that it was a pleasure to face off with her sister.
“I feel good, and it was a nice tournament. I am sad that she lost, but at the same time, I am happy that I won. But playing with my sister is always a pleasure because we bring the best out of each other.
“I would say the level wasn’t bad. I was impressed, by singles, doubles, and wheelchair and also veterans. They are playing pretty well.
“So, I really liked the level of this tournament and I hope Rwanda can keep organizing such events,” she stated.
For winning the title, Angella was awarded $2500 (approximately Ksh 307,000).
More than 90 participants took part in the tournament, which was being organized for the first time since 2019.
It was postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, which caused havoc in different corners of the universe.
Some of the other significant titles Angella has lifted this year include the prestigious Wimbledon Open Doubles and the Canadian-based J1 Repentigny trophies.
