
Renown rally driver Ken Block was pronounced dead after being involved in a snowmobile crash.
His rally team, Hoonigan, released a statement on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, confirming the death of the 55-year-old rally icon.
The team also asked the public to respect the family’s privacy as they grieve.

“It is with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today.
"Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband."
"He will be incredibly missed,” part of the statement read.
According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, a call reporting a snowmobile accident was reported prompting a search and rescue mission.
“The driver, Kenneth Block, a 55-year-old male out of Park City, Utah, was riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended, landing on top of him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident,” part of the statement read.
It was also revealed that Block was in the company of others but alone when the accident occurred.
Block leaves behind his wife, Lucy, their 16-year-old daughter Lia and two other children.
Hours before his death, Block took to his socials, where he promoted his daughter's final episode of a series on cars.
“The 4th and final episode of my 16-year-old daughter Lia buying, tearing down, rebuilding and now driving her ‘85 Audi Ur Quattro will be live at 8 am PST tomorrow on my YouTube channel. Will her Audi finally do a donut?? Or will it break in the attempt? Tune in to find out!” Block’s tweet read.
