“It is tough for any coach to release players who have been part of the training for long but factors beyond our control, cannot allow us to take Yiga and Ssentamu to Algeria.
“Both players will remain part of our plans with the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers coming up in March 2023,” Milutin Sredojevic.
Yiga was substituted during the first half of the Uganda Cranes' friendly match against Mali.
Uganda will travel to Algeria on Wednesday, January 11, after completing training in Tunisia.
During their stay in Tunisia, the Cranes have engaged in several friendly matches drawing all.
Uganda registered a draw against Mali on Sunday, January 8, having drawn with Sudan (2-2) and Cameroon (0-0).
According to the Cranes coach the friendly matches that the team has played have shaped his side well ahead of the tournament.
