Harambee Stars forward Henry “Meja” Atola has been loaned off to Swedish second-tier side Norrby IF from top-tier side AIK Fotboll.
According to a statement released by the club on Monday, January 16, 2023, it was highlighted that the move was in order to help the Kenyan get more game time.
AIK’s CEO Manuel Lindberg highlighted that the move will allow Meja to be a regular feature in the Allsvenskan, the Swedish top-tier league.

“We have had a good dialogue with Norrby IF and it is an environment where we believe that the player can continue to develop, play several matches and take the final steps needed to become a starting player also in the Allsvenskan,” Manuel Lindberg stated.
Meja joined AIK on September 3, 2021, from FKF Premier League side Tusker FC, with his contract valid until September 1, 2026.
The 21-year-old forward made a mark on his debut with AIK when he was introduced as a substitute on February 27, 2022, scoring the last goal and helping his side win 4-0 against Eskilsminne IF.
Before his move to AIK, Meja scored 11 goals in his last season as a Tusker player.
He made his debut for Harambe Stars on March 15, 2021, during a friendly match against Tanzania under former coach Jacob Mulee.
Meja came into the match as a substitute in the 70th minute where he replaced Lawrence Juma in a match that ended with a 2-1 win for Kenya.
The other two Kenyans playing for AIK include Collins Shichenje and Erick “Marcelo” Otieno.
