Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) called on Kenyans and other stakeholders to participate in the current rugby reforms.

In a memo sent to stakeholders and union members, it was disclosed that amendments were being made to the KRU constitution to align it with the Sports ACT 2023 and the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

The changes result from the Annual General Meeting of the Union held on September 6, 2022.

“In the spirit of public participation, we invite comments and proposals from all members and stakeholders of the Union to assist the committee in this process,’ part of the statement read.

Kenyans were informed to send their comments and recommendations on or before the close of business on February 24, 2023.

“Your feedback should be submitted in writing, addressed to the Secretary of the committee and emailed to constitutionreview(at)kru(dot)co(dot)ke.

KRU also announced there would be one-on-one online consultative meetings with all the Kenya Rugby stakeholders to assist the committee in finding the best action plan.

A total of 10 consultative meetings will be held, beginning with the women in rugby and ending with Kenya Cup Clubs.

These changes came amid KRU's three-year partnership with Alymali Sports Management on the Management and Commercialization of the Women’s National Team, the Lionesses.

According to KRU, Alymali will be undertaking activities that will support the development of the Brand Lionesses and players both at the team and personal levels.
