National Classic League champions Ulinzi Warriors have been drawn in Pool H2 of the Elite 16 in the Eastern Division for the qualifiers of next year’s Basketball Africa League, the second edition of the NBA sponsored tournament.

The female coach did not only lead a man’s team in the toughest tournament in Africa but also championed a cause for women.

Kenya Morans went out of the AfroBasket Qualifiers tournament quite painful after losing 60 - 58 to South Sudan.

The Morans beat South Sudan 74-68 last year in the zonal qualifiers in what was a turning point for the basketball team and fraternity in the country.

Kenya qualifies for the quarter-finals classification and will face the winner between Uganda and South Sudan.

The Nigerians won the first quarter 20-8, only to lose 18-14 in the second quarter. However, they resurged in the second half, winning 15-13 and 22-16 in the third and fourth quarters respectively.

This follows her incredible performance at the Zone Five Afrobasket qualifiers held on 12 to 17 July, 2021 where she helped the national women's basketball team, Kenya Lionesses, clinch the zonal  title and consequently qualify for the Women's Afrobasket to be held  on 17 to 26 September, 2021. 

Liz Mills Morans had a good start in the opening quarter, losing by two points (26-24) before taking the second quarter 13-15.
The more experienced West Africans soon found their groove in the third and fourth quarter (22-15, 28-16) to take away the game from the Kenyans.
