
Commonwealth champion Ferdinand Omanyala has been selected as an Honouree for the 12th edition of the African Achievers Award.
The fastest man in Africa will receive an award in the ‘Emerging Sportsman of the Year category for his contribution to sports in Kenya.
Organisers scheduled the event for September 20, 2022, at the UK House of Parliament, London, United Kingdom.

In a letter seen by TeamKenya.co.ke Omanyala received the special invitation to the 12th African Achievers Awards’’ and International Summit at the United Kingdom House of Parliament
“We are pleased to inform you that you have been shortlisted and selected as an Honouree for the 12th Edition of the African Achievers Awards under the ‘Emerging Sportsman of the Year Award Category, for your exceptional stride and contribution towards the sports development of Kenya.
“It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the 2022 African Achievers Awards & International Summit/Honors,” part of the letter read.
The Award ceremony has been rated by FORBES Magazine as one of the most prestigious award Ceremonies on the African continent.
Omanyala will join some of the notable Individuals, and organizations who have been honoured at the prestigious Awards Ceremony over the years.
Some of the awardees include the late Arch. Bishop Desmond Tutu, former Tanzania president Jakaya Kikwete, President of the Republic of Tanzania and former President of Ghana Attah Mills.
In past years, the ceremony has been held in London, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria.
