
Manchester United's forward Cristiano Ronaldo announced that his newborn son died during birth through an emotional post on social media.
The Red Devils' star was expecting twins with his Spanish partner Georgina Rodriguez.
According to the statement, the couple lost their son, noting that their daughter survived.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” the statement read.
Various people including different Premier League Clubs shared their condolences with the couple.
“The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the Premier League are with you and your family, Cristiano,” read a statement from the Premier League.
Ronaldo's club also was quick to condole with the family of their striker: “Your pain is our pain, Cristiano Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time,” Manchester United noted.
Manchester United face Liverpool on April 19, for a Premier League fixture and the Merseyside team also sent their condolences to the family: “All of us here at Liverpool FC send our deepest condolences to you, Georgina and the family, " Liverpool's statement read.
Manchester United rivals City also joined in condoling with the family: “Everyone at Manchester City sends our deepest condolences to you and Georgina,” read a message from Etihad.
It is yet to be established whether the 37-year-old Manchester United striker will feature for their fixture against Liverpool, but it is highly likely that he will miss.
