Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes disclosed on Monday, August 29, 2022 that he always steps onto the football pitch with his left leg first and never answers or makes phone calls during match days.
In an exclusive interview with the English Premier League club’s official website, Fernandes divulged that he always talks with members of his family before getting on the team bus to avoid answering phone calls.
"I always do the same. I like to eat breakfast or lunch - depending on the time of the game. Something I always do is speak with my kids and my wife before we leave the hotel because after I go on the bus I don’t text anyone, I don’t answer phones.

“So, I like to be focused on the game after that and when you get to Old Trafford for me it is game on from there,” revealed the former Sporting CP player.
The Portuguese international added he believes that entering the football pitch with the left leg helps set him up to express himself well on the pitch.
“That is one of the superstitions and the other one is I always enter on the pitch with the left foot [first] .
“That is something that I always do, something that I believe can help me in some way. Not to get a better performance but to be myself,” stated Fernandes.

Besides revealing his pre-match routine, Fernandes also spoke about the best atmosphere he has experienced at the Theatre of Dreams since joining the club.
According to him, Manchester United’s win over Leeds United during the 2021/2022 Premier League campaign was the best game that he has ever played at Old Trafford.
“It’s difficult to say but probably Leeds, maybe because I scored my hat-trick, but I think fans have waited for a long time to have the game against Leeds, I think something like 20 years to have their fans back to the stadium.
“But City in my first season… the City one at home when we won 2-0. Anthony [Martial] and Scott [McTominay] scored. That was good, that was really good,” he ended.
