
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko surprised veteran Kenyan boxer, Conjestina Achieng, on her birthday at the Mombasa Women Empowerment Network Hospital in Miritini.
Sonko visited the former boxer as she continued with her recovery on October 20.
During his visit, the former governor gifted Achieng a cake, boxing headgear, fight trunks, a tank top, ring shoes, boxing pads and a pair of boxing gloves.

“We celebrated Mashujaa Day in style by joining one of our great shujaas, Conjestina Achieng, for her 45th birthday,” Sonko’s post read.
She later had some light training sessions with her son as they entertained the audience.
In the video posted by Sonko on his social media platforms, Conjestina was heard saying that she could also be a very good bodyguard.
This was Sonko’s second visit since taking the former boxer to the Mombasa rehabilitation facility in July 2022.
During his last visit on September 3, the former governor gave an update on Conjestina’s condition as well as gifting her.
Amina Abdalla, who is the chair lady of Mombasa women empowerment during Sonko's previous visit, noted that she was close to getting stable.
She noted that the 45-year-old was is in the second step, and she could participate in what she loves doing.
The legendary boxer is expected to be out of the facility in six months' time.
