
Harambee Stars defender Erick Marcelo Ouma was ranked higher than some English Premier League players in terms of the take-on index in a study done by the Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) Football Observatory.
According to the report published by the Switzerland-based independent research organization on February 2, Ouma is ranked 59th in the world.
The ex-Gor Mahia defender had an impressive score of 78.5 out of the possible 100.

He was ranked higher than the likes of Aston Villa ace Aaron Creswell, Manchester United’s Luke Shaw and Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Pervis Estupiñán Tenorio.
Ouma is also better than some of the Bundesliga and La Liga stars according to the report.
The 26-year-old was placed higher than the Bayern Munich duo of Benjamin Pavard and Daley Blind as well as Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy.
CIES Football Observatory report was based on players’ performance in the past year.
Portuguese international Joao Cancelo was ranked the best defender when it comes to the take-on aspect.
Cancelo, who secured a loan move from Manchester City to Bayern Munich in the just-concluded winter transfer window, had a score of 87.7 out of 100.
He was closely followed by Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold and Celta Vigo’s Javi Galan. Arnold and Galan had a score of 86.7 and 86.6 out of 100 respectively.
