Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has banned Iraqi coach Karok Salih Mohammed for life after he was found guilty of doping charges.
In an announcement made on Wednesday, February 22, AIU noted that the coach was responsible for issuing Dana Hussein with Prohibited Substance.
Dana Hussein in her defence confirmed that she had no knowledge as to how the Adverse Analytical Finding had occurred and confirmed that the coach was responsible for her nutrition, including supplements, medications and vitamins, and her Training.

“This matter concerns multiple Anti-Doping Rule Violations committed by the Coach in connection with Anti-Doping Rule Violations committed by Iraqi Athlete, Dana Hussein (“the Athlete”).
“The AIU has banned Iraqi coach Karok Salih Mohammed for life from November 16, 2022, for possessing and trafficking in a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method by an Athlete or other Person; administration by an Athlete or other Person to any Athlete In-Competition of any Prohibited Method or Prohibited Substance; and complicity by an Athlete or other Person,’ AIU noted.
According to AIU the tactician basically abused his trusted position as an Athlete Support Person.
He also admitted that he acted deliberately to dope the athlete in competition without her knowledge, so as to enhance her performance and thereby grow his own reputation.
Additionally, it was disclosed that the coach accepted the consequences and expressly waived his right to have those consequences determined by the Disciplinary Tribunal at a hearing.
As for the athlete, the AIU issued her with a three-year ban commencing July 16, 2021.
Consequently, her results since June 17, 2021, were annulled.
