Okutoyi is the first Kenyan to reach the final of the W15 Nairobi tournament.

The winner of the tournament will pocket $15000 (approximately Ksh1.8 million).

She overpowered a player eight years older than her.

The other Kenyans include Mary Wachira, Katarina Karanja, Roselida Asumwa and Cynthia Wanjala.

Apart from playing professional football, Vivian and Sharon are also singers.

Nancy Kawira, Liya Gikunda and Seline Ahoya were part of the squad.

Gauff had also reached the finals of the 2022 French Open in June.

Okutoyi is one of the fast-rising tennis players in Africa.

This will be Okutoyi's first appearance in Kenya since January.

Most institutions wanted to associate with Okutoyi following her recent successes.

The 41-year-old tennis star has played more than 1500 matches over his 24 years professional career.

Tennis star Angella Okutoyi has received over 30 scholarship offers from various colleges in the United States. 

The 18-year-old displayed a brave performance but the hopes of proceeding to the next round were dashed by American Taylah Preston.

Okutoyi, who was raised by her grandmother has enjoyed fine form this season producing brilliant results in the tournaments that she has taken part in.

Should Okutoyi make it all the way to the final and emerge the winner, she will not receive any cash.

The 40-year-old athlete tried to make a comeback in the match after winning the second set but lost 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1. 

Okutoyi is expected to fly to the US Open, where she is in the main draw at Flushing Meadows.  

As partners, Serena and Venus have won a total of 14 Grand Slam doubles titles. 

Okutoyi and her partner will play the finals against Ella Seidel from Germany and Amelia Waligora from Belgium. 

Woods, who is regarded as one of the best players to ever play professional golf, was accompanied by his wife Erica Herman to the match.
