The Kabeberi 7s will take place at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi between May 21 and 22, 2022.

Shujaa had earlier begun their Pool A fixtures after registering a comeback against Zimbabwe with a 24-19 victory. 

The experienced coach attained his World Rugby Level 2 coaching certifications in December 2021 together with others like Kevin Amiani and Dennis Mwanja. 

Kenya is the Africa 7s titleholder and will be seeking to defend the honours in the ongoing tournament.

During his career with Shujaa he was able to feature in 122 matches where he scored 215 points with 43 tries. 

According to the latest report from World Rugby Sevens Kenya is ranked tenth as South Africa lead at the top.  

Kenya who are the current holders of the trophy have exited the trophy challenge despite having the home ground advantage. 

Kenya lost their first two opening matches against the USA and South Africa missing a chance to play in the cup quarters. 

Namibia went into halftime with a 29-0 lead with five tries and two conversions before extending their lead in the final half. 

Shujaa who were the 2016 winners at the Singapore 7s handed the Springboks their 36th consecutive win in the series. 

Shujaa arrived at the two-day rugby event in Singapore having finished ninth at the Seville 7s back in January. 

The tournament, which serves as Africa’s U20 championship, features eight teams and will be played on a knockout basis for three days.

The latest World Rugby Sevens ranking has Kenya at eighth as South Africa leads at the top. 

Injera made his Shujaa debut in 2006 at Dubai Sevens, a tournament he has dominated until his retirement 

The referee who was assaulted was centre referee Saidi Kenya after allegations of poor officiating. 

The signing of the rugby player was also confirmed by the club’s Irish-Fijian manager Linda Shannon.
